It just hit me – It’s ME!

Standard

banner1I used to joke with one of my friends that I’d have to take her with me to Joann’s or even Kohl’s so I could use her for the Senior Citizen discount, LOL.  Well I guess they don’t call it that anymore – but the number still applies – 55 and older!!  Lordy – I got this email today and it just hit me – IT’S ME and actually has been for a few years, LOL.  Thanks anyway Pat – I guess I can go on my own!!!

Bring it!

Standard

img_1890As of December 19, 2016, I’ve officially been in my farmhouse 2 years!!  However, that means I’m going on my 3rd winter of snow shoveling the “back forty” by hand.  We recently had a couple of snow storms that brought in about 6-8″ of snow – both times.  During the last one I decided enough was enough!!  I had some Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket, so after doing some investigating and getting guy opinions I decided to purchase a “snow blower”.  I got this “SnowJoe” from Home Depot and it had some great reviews.  It’s a hybrid which means I can use the re-chargeable battery or plug it in, I love options, and it has an LED light and a 180 degree auto-rotate chute that rotates instantly with the push of a switch.  I just had to put a couple things together, charge the battery and I’m ready to go.  We’re expecting a bit of snow tomorrow and then again on Sunday – so bring it, LOL, not like the recent California snow bring it – more like another 6-8″ bring it!! 😉

PopSockets!

Standard

img_1884I feel like I’m the last to know about these but thought I’d share anyway.   I found out about these through my daughter’s bestie, Sarah.  Just got it in the mail and I love it!! It attaches to the back of your phone (it’s totally removable) and it’s sooooo much easier to hold your phone for conversations, texting, or even selfie’s!  It will also allow you to sit your phone up on it’s side.  I also purchased the “mount” to attach to my car – I always leave my phone in the seat next to me and then forget to grab it when I get out of the car.  The PopSocket is only $10 (you can pick from their designs or add your own pic) and when you spend $20 shipping is free!  The “mount” was also $10.  The company is in Boulder, Colorado!

My Latest Pig Addition

Standard

img_1727I’m not a “pig collector” but every once in awhile I come across the cutest pig, lol.  Most of these types of statues have chalkboards and I love that this one is a dry erase board.  I got it at “Kirkland’s” (I added the bow) for less than $30 and I saw one on Amazon that was a chicken and it was $50.  I love a good deal!

Gilmore Girls!!!

Standard

fullsizerender-2Amie and I were devoted fans of “Gilmore Girls” back in the day.  When we heard they were doing a new short series on Netflix we were IN!!  Netflix released the 4 part “Gilmore Girls” the day after Thanksgiving so we got up, made some coffee, grabbed blankets and began our 6 hour marathon.  LOL – it was great!!!!!!!

Garden Beds Ready

Standard

img_1688My garden beds are ready for winter.  It’s been so unseasonably warm here all October through November, suppose to be 78 degrees today.  Warm or not my trees have lost their leaves.  I love the very old trees on my property but with old trees comes a ton of leaves!!  I’d read on pinterest that you can use your leaves as mulch for your garden as long as they are chopped up not whole.  The whole leaves will just mildew with moisture but the ground up leaves will release the nutrients as they compost into the dirt.  So I got my leaf blower/sucker upper out this week and cleaned up the yard.  Then I dumped all the ground up leaves onto the top of my garden beds.  Ready for winter!!

Too Cute!

Standard

fullsizerender-2Since I’m not hosting Thanksgiving this year, my mind is on Christmas.  I’m actually not hosting Christmas this year either but I love Christmas decor.  I was in Walmart for something else and came across these adorable plates for the grandkids (because my grandkids are always on my mind).  They are ceramic salad plates, 8″ and I can’t take how cute they are!!  Had to share!! Oh, and they’re only $2.50 a piece!!!
