Soooo the cowboy search is taking a backseat to my farmhouse search (still searching Christian Mingle though). I found this house for sale about 40 min. north of me. Soooo cute, built in 1915, actually smaller inside than it looks and it’s on 1/2 acre. I’m afraid it needs a bit more work $$$ than I’m willing to put into it, but sooooo cute right!!!!

Farmhouse? Cowboy? Hmmmmm . . .
So as most of you know I’m single and if you know me wellllllll you know that for sometime now I’ve been looking for a cowboy, or a farmer, or a rancher, or any combination (seriously I’m totally flexible – LOL). I’m realizing the “pool” of single “country men” seems to be few and far between, especially locally. So I’ve been rethinking this whole living in the country thing . . . I just mean why don’t I forgo the cowboy and go straight for my own farmhouse??? I don’t mean acres and acres of farmland, just a farmhouse. Welllll I’ve been checking “Craigslist” and “Realtor.com” and I’m finding a pattern here . . . . I’ve found that my search for “my” perfect farmhouse and “my” perfect cowboy have some similarities:
1st – Look at the photo (house & cowboy)???
2nd – Where are you located: In State or Out of State . . . (house & cowboy)
3rd – Farmhouse (sq. feet?) – Cowboy (height)
4th – How old are you (house & cowboy)???
Hmmmmm would be much easier to find both in the same place, RIGHT?!?!?!
P.S. The pics are from Pinterest – but if anybody recognizes the guy on the horse – be sure to let me know – LOL

Twilight – Confessions
Yes, I may lose some of you after you read this, but the truth is I am a “Twilight” fan. One of my girlfriends & I finally had a chance to go to the movies this weekend and we saw the last installment of the Twilight series called “Breaking Dawn”. “Twilight” is a series of books written by Stephanie Meyer. Women of all ages just went bonkers over the books and hence the movies starting coming out in 2008. When “Twilight”, was released on DVD March 2009 it became the most purchased DVD of the year.
My daughter became addicted to these books and the drama between Edward, Bella & Jacob. When the first movie came out Amie had seen it SEVERAL times and she convinced me to go see it with her one more time. I hadn’t seen the movie yet or read any of the books but was curious as to what all the fuss was about. Well I was hooked. Who doesn’t love an epic love story between a human (Bella Swan) and a vampire (Edward Cullen) – LOL. I grew up watching “Dark Shadows” (yes I’m that old) when I was a kid, which was nothing like this story. I was totally sucked in (get it -LOL) to the story line and the special effects.
The love story between Bella & Edward was typical – girl falls in love with the bad boy – the guy no one likes – but he treats her with respect, tenderness and wants to protect her . . . what girl doesn’t want that??? And did I mention Edward “sparkles”?? If he is out in the sunlight his skin sparkles like glitter!! Now, for a girl who loves bling (me) can you blame me for getting hooked on the vampire??? LOL
Life Update – All is good
I haven’t had a chance to check in for awhile. All is good. I had a follow-up appointment this week with my radiation oncologist and everything looks great. I’ll just need to check in with him again in a year. Working on pulling my “Heart & Breast Health” event together. If you are local and you know anyone that needs a mammogram and she doesn’t have health insurance, I still have a few open appointments for Feb. 2nd.
The Broncos are playing in the playoffs this Saturday and we’re all excited. Tomorrow is Denver’s “Wear Orange Day” . . . . . . I have to say, watching football is wayyyy more fun when you have a team to “root” for. Last year we had Tebow and that was a ton of fun . . . now we have Peyton and he is just phenomenal!! He is like the Maestro of the Bronco Symphony and is so much fun to watch. Peyton is “water cooler” talk and we are all excited. I’m only hoping for some time this weekend to get my stinkin’ Christmas stuff put away!! Seriously my tree is still decorated . . . not lit . . . but still decorated!
I’m looking forward to this year. January always brings a sense of “new” . . . “second chances” . . . “do-overs” . . . 365 days to do it different . . . try something new . . . and yes . . . decorate another room in my house! Yes I’m hoping to have some before and after pics of my bedroom redo, just don’t hold your breath, LOL.
“Save the Date”
For all of my “local” followers . . . Please “Save the Date” for Saturday, February 2, 2013. After my experience with Breast Cancer last summer I felt God prompting me to do something, there was so much I didn’t know. He opened the doors and I’ve walked through them . . . . it’s called the “Heart & Breast Health Event – Empowering Women with Knowlege”. February is Heart Health Month so we thought we’d tie the two together. From 10am-12pm there will be speakers from St. Joseph’s Hospital here to talk to us and from 9am-2pm we will have the “Mammogram Mobile Van” here offering a FREE Mammogram to women without insurance. The event is being held at Crossroads Church – Northglenn Campus. You must register for both events. Please come & invite a friend . . . you can call me at work 303-962-5698 or sign up online at crossroadsabc.com, just click on the scrolling artwork “iheartyou”!!
Happy Halloween Everyone!
Pray . . . Wait . . . Trust . . .
Why is it that we pray for God to open doors for us and when He does we are afraid to step through them. I’m laughing with one of my girlfriends. We just had that conversation this morning. She and her husband currently live in So. Carolina and were planning on moving back to Colorado. Through prayer this summer, it looked like they were moving back. God closed the door to Colorado but opened a door in Texas. One of her daughter’s and her family is now moving to Texas. She told me she got a job offer last night from the Dallas office. Wow!! Would totally seem like a “no-brainer”, and yet she told me about the fear she went through last night thinking about it (she’s back on track this morning – she has great faith).
I think back about my move to Colorado from California. God opened EVERY door for me to make that move 17 years ago. It WAS a “no-brainer”. It was totally scary but after seeing how “present” He was in my life there was no way that I couldn’t step through those doors in faith, trusting Him. We pray for job opportunities, relationships, health concerns . . . He opens the doors and it’s up to us to walk through them. Fear is not something that comes from God. He really does love us! He really does want the best for us! So, if you have prayed and there is a door that’s been opened . . . walk through it . . . what do you have to lose?
Hey girl . . . got my cowboy boots . . . can’t wait to come visit!!!!
