I’ve been looking for a new appetizer to try out for Super Bowl Sunday – here are a few options – all look yummy!
This one is called “Neiman Marcus Dip” or in the South it’s called “Catch-A-Man Dip” . . . hmmmmm maybe I should do this one!! LOL
This one looks good too – just skewer some Tortellini and put some Basil Pesto in a bowl . . .
Wow – this looks yummy too!!

Sunday is “Playoff Time” . . . Woooowhooooo!! Go Broncos!!! Here’s my chili recipe in case you need something warm to make this weekend, love my cast iron pot. 😉 Enjoy
Homemade Chili
1 lb. hamburger 1/2 onion chopped 1 can tomato sauce 14.5 oz 1 can diced tomatoes 14.5 oz 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon oregano 1/2 TBS cumin 1 TBS chili powder 1 can kidney beans – rinse & drain1 can pinto beans – rinse & drain
Brown meat – drain – add all ingredients except the beans. Cover and simmer on low 30 minutes. Add beans, simmer another 20 minutes (I normally let it go for an hour or more). Garnish with shredded cheese & sour cream!! Adding saltines or Frito chips – a must!Kitchen Re-do Begins
Well, I haven’t really had a chance to get into my kitchen re-do yet. I’ve had a “Mediterranean” theme for the last several years so it’s time for a change. I’m lucky that the colors I painted before will still work for my re-do which will be a “Farmhouse/Country” theme. I bought two of these shelves from Hobby Lobby several years ago. I have a very large wall that I needed to cover – these were perfect. The shelves were originally black so I painted them with the same color as a couple of the walls. The interior of the frame is fabric that I stapled to the wall, then I painted and added the trim pieces to frame it out. I’ve decided to change the light fixture over my kitchen sink, but haven’t had a chance to go to Lowe’s or Home Depot yet (didn’t see what I wanted on Overstock.com). So with all that being said, I do have one “spot” that I’m fairly happy with so here are the pics. The pic on the left is the old look, pic on the right is the new look. The new picture frame is from HG and was marked down to $14 and it has a burlap matt, LOVE! Besides getting the new light fixture, I still need to make a trip, or two, to Home Goods for a few new treasures.
My Blog Stats for 2013
WordPress did an “end of the year” review for my blog that includes some interesting facts . . . thought I’d share it (some of you are even mentioned). I always love to see how many views come from different countries – 48 countries to be exact!! Thank you ALL for your support in this endeavor!! Looking forward to seeing what God has in-store for me in 2014!!! Here we go . . .
Here’s an excerpt: A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 6,700 times in 2013. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 6 trips to carry that many people.
