Blood, Sweat & Tylenol

Standard

One of my barn doors broke months ago, so it became time for the REFRESH.

First it was the garage door install. Then . . . . began the demo and install of the new barn metal.

I removed all the siding on the west side, which was a bear! I thought “what’s the big deal” just unscrew it and replace it. That was not my reality! Every panel also had nails, top and bottom which I had to use a crow bar and hammer to get those suckers out! I got the first 2 panels up and realized I was in over my head. Called for some help!

This was after the metal install and before the door trim. Only being able to work on the weekends took way longer than we both expected.

The woman that helped me had all the right tools and the lift! Removing the barn doors took forever. We cut them in sections horizontally then removed them off the tracks. She fought all those bolts and brackets forever! And did I mention every weekend was in the mid to high 90’s!

The garage doors were set back so having them installed before the metal change worked out perfect.

It was a lot of hard work and some blood, sweat & some serious Tylenol, but I absolutely love the change!
