First step was buy the cabinets and place them to see how much room I’d have to get a gas fireplace installed.
2nd was remove the window!
I do loveeee my fireplace! Purchased through Spa Brokers in Parker, CO.
They knew an installer that would frame it in and pull the gas line to it.
3rd was to pull up all the carpet, lay the new flooring down and paint the walls a little lighter gray.
And add “shiplap” to the back wall.
Decided to go with a “denim” tile made in Spain. They have other beautiful colors at Floor & Decor but I found this color on Wayfair – Renzo (MSI) Denim 5″x5″ ceramic wall tile. I went with black grout which I love more than I expected.
Taaaa daaaaaa!! It’s taken over a year, BUT I’m so happy with the way it turned out!!! I purchased the cabinets from IKEA. The bottom cabinets are “Brimnes” and I changed the handles. The top cubby cabinets also from IKEA – Kallax – height was perfect for an 8′ ceiling!
This really is something to be proud of. So much planning, and so many steps to see it come to fruition! Just gorgeous!!
