Studio Shiplap

Standard

Shiplap! I’ve never used it before and I love it!  I bought the Primed MDF Shiplap from Home Depot – boards are 6″x8′ and super easy to work with.  You just nail the lip (which will be hidden) then nail about one inch up from the bottom of the board and the next board just sits on top.

I finished the shiplap wall on Saturday – I was able to keep the studio at 40 degrees inside while it was 3 degrees outside, lol.  I had to add 2×4’s on the peaks of each “end” of the studio in order to have something to nail the ceiling boards to.  I’ve decided that once I finish the vapor barrier and insultation on the ceiling that I’m going to shiplap the ceiling too.  Wish me luck 😉

Here’s the peak with the 2×4’s that I added.

My plan is to leave the horizontal 2×4’s open.  We’ll see how it goes, lol.  Now some warmer temps would be amazing. Hoping to pull some power to the studio next week 😉
