We ARE Fam . . a . . lee!

I have known this sweet lady and her family for over 40 years and today we actually become SISTERS!  Denise and her family lived in the same neighborhood we did and we met during Junior High School (Middle School).  We have been besties over the years and TODAY my brother, Randy and her sister, Sally are getting married!! Wish I was out there to celebrate with you all.  Happy late “Siblings Day” Sis! LOL   xoxo   Hugs & kisses to Randy & Sally!!

“Deer Ears” Mini Session

WOW Me Wednesday! UPDATE ADD CHICKEN!

Yep, it’s been awhile since I posted a “Wow Me Wednesday” recipe.  This will be worth the wait! LOL

Broccoli and Grape Pasta Salad (Originally from Southern Living) 6-8 servings

Ingredients – ADD a can of CHICKEN!!!!! YUM
  • 1/2 cup chopped toasted pecans (I just added pine nuts when ready to serve.)
  • 8 ounces farfalle pasta
  • 3 cups finely chopped broccoli florets
  • 1 cup mayo (Best Foods is my choice)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/3 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups seedless red grapes, cut in half
  • 6 cooked bacon slices, crumbled
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place pecans on baking sheet and toast in oven for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring half way through.
  2. Prepare pasta according to package directions, cooking to al dente. Drain pasta and place in a large bowl.
  3. In a medium bowl combine mayonnaise, sugar, red wine vinegar, red onion, and salt. Whisk well.
  4. Add broccoli and grapes to the large bowl with pasta. Gradually add mayonnaise mixture (I added about 75% of the mayo mixture, then added the rest after it was chilled – it really soaks it up).
  5. Cover and chill for 3 hours. Stir bacon and pecans into salad just before serving.

Deer Ears!

Yahoo!  I received the little “deer ears” that I ordered.  I found “Lovely Nohea” on Etsy.

How precious is this!!??!!

Kalani is wonderful to work with and very accommodating.  I had a specific look I was going for when I contacted her.  She put together some flower combos and let me choose.  I also asked her to change the color of the ears for a photo shoot I’m planning.  I love it!  It’s absolutely perfect!  Look at the cute little fur touches in the ears!  Be sure and check out the other items on her Etsy shop – it’s ALL hand made!

Tea Party Prop

When you can’t find what you want – you make it!  I was looking for a small pedestal for some tea party treats for a “Mini Session” I want to do this Spring.  I couldn’t find what I wanted so I decided to make it.  The candlestick was 50% off , I used a 40% off coupon on the wood round & I had the clear spray paint.

I sprayed the wood round on both sides for a bit of protection . . . added some wood glue to the candlestick . . .

. . . then added some weight for good adhesion . . . .

. . . Voila! How stinkin’ cute is that! LOL

Total cost was about $13 (Hobby Lobby).

Belley Sleepover

I have this little clay handprint hanging on my inspiration wall in my bathroom.

  I was about 5 years old when it was made.

Belle is turning 4 years old this year and her hand almost fits!  Look at that cute face!!

Allergies??

Allergy season has begun!  I always forget it’s coming and then I wonder  . . . am I getting a c.o.l.d.?  No it’s March! Time to get my HONEY out!  One teaspoon of local unfiltered honey is the key to getting through this!  And it’s delicious!
