My Texas Bestie came to visit for a few days!  We had a great time, eating, shopping, watching movies and eating more, lol!  We went to Golden on Saturday (where they make Coors Beer) and shopped at an outdoor Vintage Market in Parfet Park.  The weather was perfect and after looking around we had lunch at Dagotto’s Panini Bistro – it was very yummy and their Limoncello Cake was incredible!! The market was fun and had some great vendors, it’s actually called “Old House Vintage Market”.  I found this awesome metal art.  I love it and it looks so cute with my little metal goats (from decorsteals.com).  Thanks for coming to visit Robin!!! xoxo

Here’s a link to the bistro in case you’re ever in Golden:

I was in California last week for my 40th Napa High School Reunion.  Oh my word, so much fun!  So great to see my friends from years ago.  My brother Randy, who graduated a year after me came with his girlfriend, Sally who graduated the year after him.  They had a photo booth at the reunion, hence the weird glasses and boas.  Caught up with old friends, Kevin & Robert.  We had so much fun hanging out together, right Randy!? LOL

Olivia Tye Soap Co.

Standard

I’m so excited to introduce you to Jena & “Olivia Tye Soap, Co.”!!!!

Jena is my Texas Bestie’s daughter and my sweet friend.  When Amie & I were there (Texas) Jena told me about her blog that she is launching TODAY!!!!  Jena has been making Goat’s Milk Soap for a little while now and it is wonderful!!  I purchased a few bars (left pic) to try out & I honestly love the soap.  I’ve been using the Poppyseed one for my hand soap and my face wash for about a week now.  It’s super creamy – is that the right way to describe soap?   I can tell you that living in Colorado leads to very dry skin – I can’t wash my hands without immediately following up with hand lotion but not with this soap.  Her soap is handmade using goat’s milk from their very own goats and ALL natural ingredients (no chemicals, no perfumes).  You can totally tell the difference!  Jena’s blog will open your eyes to life on a farm.  I hope you visit her blog to see what’s going on at Triple J Ranch & check out her soap!!

Olivia Tye Soap, Co. options are: Frost’d Lavender, Honey’d Orange, Lime’d Coconut, Poppy’d Lemon, Spice’d Rum, and Squeak’d Clean!!!  I hope you give them a try – I promise you’re going to love them & they make great gifts!!  😉

My Texas Treasure

Standard

If you’re ever near McKinney, Texas you must go downtown.  They have the best little town square that is full of fun shops and great restaurants!  I found these stinkin’ cute bookends during our Girls Weekend in “The Little Red Hen”.  There are a painted heavy iron that could also be used as a door stop but they will find they’re way onto a shelf somewhere in my little farmhouse.  I’m not sure what my “thing” is about little pigs these days but they are the cutest bookends ever!

Triple J Ranch

Standard

When we got back from Waco Sunday we went out to Jena & her family’s place – Triple J Ranch (Jena & Jamie Johnson).  Jena told us that the wild duck showed up one day and decided to stay.  The day before we were there, they received a shipment of broiler chicks, so cute.  This goat is one of several and a few are even milking goats.  Jena makes homemade Goat’s Milk Soap (more coming about her soap next week).  We had a great time – just realized though that I didn’t get pics of her family, lol, just Paige with “Ducky”, well next time!

Magnolia Silos

What a great weekend!  The weather was a bit overcast and a bit rainy at times but nice and warm.  The Magnolia property is soooo family friendly.  They have a lot of picnic tables all around the property.  You could bring your lunch or eat from the several food trucks.  We decided to eat somewhere else just because it was raining when we were ready to eat.  Great time with my bestie and our daughters! More pics tomorrow.

Side note:  I haven’t been on Frontier Airlines in years but they were running a sale that we couldn’t pass up on.  When we boarded and sat in our seats I looked in front of me and asked Amie – what the heck is this? – it was the “tray table” – seriously???!!!!  It fits NOTHING except a cup and napkin – LOL

His Timing is Perfect!

IMG_0985This was a reminder to me of how God really is in the details of our lives.  I bought this outdoor heater at Lowe’s last year during their Black Friday Sale – it was $50 off!  I knew at some point I’d need another propane tank but it was winter so it was in the back of my mind.  I had gone to Walmart last week to pick up a few things, then to Sam’s Club to pick up some pictures I had them print for me.  I had a little bit of time (lunch time) so I strolled around seeing what spring/summer stuff they had.  I came across the propane tanks for $30 put I couldn’t tell if they were full or empty (no, I didn’t think to pick it up to see how heavy they were) so I just decided to leave it for now.  As I was walking away I heard a man’s voice say “hey, are you looking for a propane tank”?  I turned around, prepared to say no thank you – assuming it was a salesperson and it was the husband of one of my co-workers.  I laughed and went over to chat with him.  I told him about the heater I bought and that I was needing a propane tank for it.  He told me the tanks Sam’s were selling were empty and that he had one he could give me!  I said, seriously!?!  He had been asking around his work last summer to see if anyone had an empty tank he could give his mom for her bar-b-que and he ended up with 3 extra tanks!!  SCORE!!!  I drove back to work just laughing at the whole thing.  God’s timing really is perfect and He really does care about the little details of our lives!  When I came into work Monday, the empty tank was in my office!!  Thanks Bill & Lisa Ross!! 😉
