Mudroom
Washer and dryer – in – check! I never thought I’d be excited about doing laundry but my old washing machine finally gave up. It was my grandmother’s and is a Maytag that was over 30 years old! They just don’t make things like they use too. My new (new to me) washer and dryer were given to me by Jason & Tara. The house they moved into earlier this year had these and they didn’t want them cause they love their front loaders, so I’ve had them sitting in the barn all summer. I love them, that washing machine is huge! I went to put clothes in it (a normal “old” load) and there was room for a load more! And it’s sooooo quiet and has a cute little chimey song when the load is done! Thank you Jason & Tara!!!! xoxo . . . Farmhouse sink and countertop next!
PINK-TOBER
Mudroom
My mudroom is coming along. I got the back beadboard panels painted and had some help getting the upper cabinets in place. I’ll get the corner bottom cabinets attached tonight and tomorrow I’m getting help for the mudroom sink plumbing and reinforcing the cabinet it’s sitting on. I bought the cabinets at Home Depot (20% off), they’re called “Natural Hickory” and they are “in stock” cabinets! I bought the little cabinet the sink is sitting on from a friend here at work, it has a piece of marble for the top and a marble backsplash. I had thought about adding feet to it because it’s only 27″ tall but removing the marble and adding my sink brought it to a great height cause the sink is 10″ deep. Once I get the countertop in place the sink will have about a 1″ reveal. I loveeeeee it! My friend Sherry brought the sink out for me when she and her family drove out for Amie’s wedding. Sherry had remodeled her kitchen, removed the farmhouse sink and asked if I wanted her to hang onto it for me. I hadn’t bought my little farmhouse yet but knew I’d want a farmhouse sink. It’ll be perfect for washing my hands after yard work cause it’s right by the door. I cannot wait to use it, it’s huge 30″x 20″, I could give Belle a bath in it, LOL. Thanks girl!!

Mudroom Progress
I’ve been a bit stressed lately over everything that needs to get done on my addition. I want to do all the finish work, well all that I “can” do. I’ve decided to focus on one room at a time because back and forth doing pieces of projects never feels like there’s much progress being made. Since I finished the tile floor in the mudroom, that’s where I’ll put my energy. My theory is getting “a” room done will feel soooo much better. My life hasn’t been settled since I moved in, so getting these extra rooms finished will be amazing! I’ve finished the mudroom ceiling, put up the trim, filled and sanded the nail holes and painted! I was also able to get up “one of 3” bead board panels on the back wall that will house my cabinets, mudroom sink & washer/dryer. I’ve added another picture of how awesome the cuts came out using paint on the fixtures to mark the back of the paneling, you can still see the bright green paint. The best trick ever and makes life soooo much easier! 😉
Hanging Bead Board
When Amie & Matthew were up a couple weekends ago, they helped me put up bead board on my closet and mudroom ceilings. Cutting holes for the light fixtures was a bit challenging but I remembered seeing on Pinterest that someone used lipstick around the fixtures to mark where to cut!! So I thought, well wet paint will be even better!! So I painted around the fixture holes and the paint transferred to the back of the paneling – loveeeeee!!! The holes were perfect, seriously, wayyyy easier than trying to measure 50 bazillion times! The bead board Amie is painting is for the walls in the mudroom. The ceilings will be white and I hate that I didn’t get a pic of Matthew! The pic with the pink wall is my closet 😉 and the hung bead board is on the ceiling in the mudroom (yellow walls). 😉
Ready for Fall
I Just Had Too . . .
I couldn’t fit in the grandkids’ tractor, I needed a mower for the lawn and I needed something to mow down 3ft weeds, soooooo I got my own! Seriously, how can you have a little farmhouse and not have a John Deere!! I bought it from my church – we had one sitting up at our Fort Lupton Campus that hadn’t been used in a few years. This thing is a work horse – these pics are after the 3ft weeds came down and yes that’s dirt on my leg! I love it! It’s sooo much fun – yes, I crack myself up. LOL
Mudroom Tile – Done!
I attempted my very first tile job and even though I DID conquer it, it was not fun!! I’ll try most anything once – tiling is just not my thing. I was never the kid that liked to play in the mud, I preferred looking for the rocks with the glitter in them and then taking them home and washing the dirt off! Tiling is a very messy job. I don’t mind getting dirty but this was a bit much and it was totally back breaking! Jason came by on his way home from work and cut the last 2 tiles for me 😉 It looks great and I’m proud that I got it done but seriously, give me a paint roller any day!! I still have the bathroom floor tile to do soooooo we’ll seeeeee. 😉
