Ready for Guests!

I have this little niche in my kitchen and thought it was a perfect spot for a coffee bar.  I bought the furniture piece awhile back because it was tall, perfect size & had lots of storage.  I love it and decided to dress it up for Christmas – come on over for a cup of coffee! 😉

I bought the tray at Hobby Lobby, the little Christmas Bird at Michael’s, the metal icicle ledge from decorsteals.com and I had the rest of the stuff.  Thanks to my friend Sherry who gave me the “Fresh Coffee” sign – it’s made of wood and adorable!

Master Bath & Some Pretty

Standard

I still have to paint the ceiling and add the light fixture over the tub, but I couldn’t take it anymore – not have some pretty things in there!  I already had most everything – I bought the white metal wall cabinet by the tub (Home Goods), the towels (still have the tags, from Tuesday Morning) and the shelf over the toilet – welllll I bought the brackets at Hobby Lobby and the wood shelf is actually a piece of wood I salvaged from the back porch – it was a support in between the roof rafters, lol.  😉

Wayne came over last Thursday and was an excellent supervisor!! I got the water valves for the vanity and toilet on and the vanity hooked up.  Then Friday night I put the toilet in which was much easier than I anticipated – thank goodness!  Love my new Delta toilet.  So, tub, vanity & toilet are in – still need to finish the closet and get the shower tiled and functioning.  We’ll seeeee about the shower tile – hoping “I” won’t have to do it and hoping to get that done before Christmas.  THANK YOU WAYNEY for all you help!!!

My Tub is IN!! Yippee

Standard

The plumber finished my tub last night – yippee!  It looks beautiful!  Hoping to get the vanity & my new Delta toilet done tonight.  Wayne & Carol are coming by, Wayne is a retired plumber and overall handyman kinda guy.  I’ve asked him to supervise my installation, lol.  I’m kind of excited – I love learning how to do this stuff. (The tub was above my pay grade.)

Mirror hung! Faucet attached!  Plumber coming tonight to hopefully finish my tub!! Then I just need to hook up the faucet and new toilet to the plumbing.  I found the mirror a few months ago at Home Goods and my faucet is from Home Depot and it’s Kingston Crystal Knob Satin Nickel. LOVE! 😉

Master Bath Progress

Standard

I met Jason at Home Depot yesterday and we picked up some wood, a toilet and some plumbing parts.  He came over and put in my bathroom window trim and sill.  Now I just need to fill nail holes and paint it.  We got the vanity in and leveled – I love it!  I bought it online through Home Depot months ago and haven’t seen it till yesterday – it’s gorgeous! Thanks Jason, xoxo!!! Time to call the plumber – 😉

Master Bath Progress

Standard

I made a little progress in the master bath this weekend.  I got all the cement board screwed down to the subfloor and finished painting (well, except for the ceiling).  I’ve been told that the cement board is necessary if you want a sturdy surface for you tiles.  Some people just tile over the plywood but I didn’t want to take any chances, I only want to this ONE time, LOL.  It was like putting a puzzle together and wholly toledo it took a boat load of screws!  I love my Ryobi drill.  It was part of a combo kit I bought earlier this year and it works like a charm.  I opened up a box of my tile, because I couldn’t take it any longer, and laid it out on the floor – loveeeeee!!!!!  It’s a wood look porcelain  tile by MARAZZI and I bought it at Home Depot – they have several different colors and they all look amazing – here’s a link:  http://tinyurl.com/pzwj856 . . . hoping to start the tiling this week! 🙂

Trinkets for My Little Farmhouse

Standard

Love my new bread box and cow bell! I put the cow bell by the back door – love!! I found the cow bell at Homegoods and bought the breadbox from Decor Steals.com – they have super cute stuff and only $5 for shipping! https://www.decorsteals.com

Mudroom is Functioning!

The sink and countertop are in and everything is functional!!  I love my farm sink and cabinet.  I just added the crystal knobs last night (Hobby Lobby 50% off this week).  When I unscrewed the drawer knob I found it had a wood screw – crazy, I’ve never seen anything like it – so cool.  I still wanted to utilize the cabinet drawer so Brian used the wood shelf that was in the bottom of the cabinet for the sections in the drawer to make room for the sink drain.  He and his wife did all my drywall and he’s helping me do the stuff I don’t know how to do.  The countertop is one of IKEA’s in-stock countertops, one slab and only cost $69 (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90276612/) and I found the faucet on Overstock.  I’m not going to do all the “finish” details right now because I want to move on to the bathroom and get that “functioning” – I want my tub 😉 !!!
