So why is it called a Master Closet anyway? LOL I’m taking a few days off next week to work on my closet. I’ve measured and sketched out my idea so hopefully the end product will be close! I’ve already painted it but need to trim the ceiling bead board. Still need to tile the floor into the closet from the bathroom and hang my pocket door. I already secured this cabinet to the wall, I’ve had it for years. To the left of the cabinet will be almost 4′ for double hanging tops. To the right, about 30″ of hanging for jeans with winter vests hanging above, then a 16″ wide tower shelf thing, then about 20″ left for long hanging and shelf above for purses. The cabinet picture is standing in my bathroom looking into the closet. Crossing my fingers!! 😉

New Dishwasher!!
When I moved into my little farmhouse the dishwasher that came with the house was a “portable dishwasher” which I’ve never experienced. You have to roll it over to the sink, hook the hose up to the faucet, turn on the hot water and plug it in. It never really did a great job but I thought it was because of my well water. Turns out a NEW REAL dishwasher was the key! Because there had never been a “real” dishwasher in the house before I had to have the sink re-plumbed and since the PVC pipes needed to be changed out, I decided to change out the water valves, water lines, add a garbage disposal and add a filtered water faucet. Wow, I love it!! You don’t realize how much you appreciate the simple conveniences in life until you don’t have them and then get them back! The portable dishwasher is going to my neighbor who has NEVER owned a dishwasher – I know crazy! And one day there will be a full counter and a cabinet next to my new dishwasher. I moved the 4 drawer cabinet from where the new dishwasher is now to the opposite side of the kitchen and put it in between the stove and fridge. Kitchen re-do is not happening any time soon but this all works for now!! The dishwasher is a Whirlpool Gold Series and I love it!! Has a ton of space inside and is quiet!! The filtered water faucet is a Brita and it’s sold as a kit – comes with everything you need and you just hook it up to your cold water – between your cold water faucet and your water line (not at your water valve). Bought them both at Home Depot. Thank you sooooo much to Bob from work – he’s always so kind to help me out with my crazy endeavors!
Sourdough Bread!!
I’m originally from California and have lived here in Colorado for 21 years now. When the kids and I first moved here it was impossible for me to find “French Bread” like the bread in California. I don’t know why we ever called it “French Bread” but when you ask (the people I know) for “French Bread” in California everyone knows exactly what you mean. When I moved to Colorado I realized there really was “French Bread” but it’s not MY “French Bread” because I learned for the FIRST time in my life – that MY “French Bread” was really called “Sourdough”!! LOL Who knew!?! Well this is the absolute best “French Bread/Sourdough” sold in Colorado and when you bake it, it’s as if you were sitting in a restaurant on Pier 39 in San Francisco and they just brought you out a loaf of warm, fresh from the oven, french bread!! I mean Sourdough! 😉
Cute Little Shelf
Found this adorable shelf at Home Goods yesterday. It’s perfect. This is in the “old” mudroom which will become my “new” kitchen pantry. The “new” mudroom is on the other side of that wall which is accessed through the new dining room. I hung the shelf where the back door use to be (from the house to the back porch). I can’t put cabinets or shelving on that wall because just below it on the floor is the access to my stand-up crawl space which is where my furnace and water pump are. Tiny updates encourage me, lol. It makes my head hurt when I think about working on this room – I have to take a breath and get back to my new closet. The pantry will have to wait!
It’s Official
I named my property a long time ago (in my head) and now it’s in writing, permanently in wood! I love it!! Thanks so much to my friend Sherry for my adorable cutting board!!
What do you think? THANK YOU!!!

Thanks sooooo much for the feedback ladies! Looks like it’ll be blush & wood – 😉
Ok, soooo I could use your help. My bedroom is pink “Blush” with red curtains and red accents, like a Vintage Valentine. 😉 This door leads to my old closet and into my new master bathroom which is a “Sea Glass” color. My dilemma: should I paint the old closet “Sea Glass” and tile the floor the same as the bathroom or paint it “Blush” and extend the wood flooring from the bedroom into the old closet? That is a step-down from the closet to the new bathroom and I still need to trim out the doorway. The current door will eventually come off and I’ll be adding a sliding barn door. The current flooring in the old closet is old linoleum over the subfloor and that’s just a piece of carpet laying there for now.
I’d love for you to leave me a comment here with your opinion! And P.S. is that not the cutest stinkin’ pig picture or WHAT!!!??? FYI – Kirklands 😉
Dinning Room Windows
So here are some pics of my dinning room windows. The first one is without the window trim that my son, Jason did for me (thanks Jason!xoxo). The second is with the trim & the third is after I hung the curtain rod & curtains. Love! 😉
Too Cute!

Bicycle Basket
I found this at Hobby Lobby yesterday! Tooooo cute! Hmmmmm . . . now, where to hang it? And what to put in it? 😉
SNOW DAY!
No idea where it came from, we were only expecting 2-4 inches and ended up with at least 12″ at my house with a few giant drifts!! I couldn’t even see my front porch!!! I decided to bake cookies for Christmas while I waited for the snow to stop. It stopped around 2ish and then the shoveling began. Wholly toledo it was crazy but I do have to say that my new wool mittens worked fabulous!! I was out in 20 degree temps for almost 2 hours and my fingers NEVER got cold!! Looks like I’ll be having a White Christmas cause this stuff won’t be melting any time soon! 😉
Butcher Block Island
I’ve had this butcher block island for almost 30 years! I love it and even when I didn’t have a place to use it I still kept it hanging around. Several years ago I decided to use it in my basement (last house) for folding laundry, so I asked my friend Wayne to add the bottom shelf and put wheels on it for me. It was a great height for folding clothes. I don’t have a lot of counter space in my little farmhouse so I decided to put it in the kitchen. It’s a bit tight but really comes in handy. I’ve been wanting to paint it red since I put it in there but couldn’t find a good color. I finally took a pillow cover I have from Ikea and had it matched at Home Depot. I love it!! Perfect farmgirl red! 😉
