Studio Update

Standard

So I found this little cutie at Hobby Lobby and had to have it!!  Of course it was on sale – 50% off – cost me $10.

I’ve been wanting some cubbies for prop storage but my space is limited.  I found this 6 cube unit at Target: https://www.target.com/p/6-cube-organizer-shelf-11-room-essentials-153/-/A-50699204

The cube unit was $35 and the pink cubes were just $5 ea. It’s perfect for the space!

Spray Paint to the Rescue

Standard

I love these bright green items but I don’t have bright green accent stuff anymore.  So spraypaint to the rescue!

I’m telling you spraypaint is the answer to all your problems!!  You can change the look of anything!

I had a few of these hooks left over from the old mudroom (now pantry).  I’ve been wanting to hang my ironing board to get it off the floor in my linen closet.  Voila!  Do people still use an ironing board? LOL  One day when I re-do the linen closet you’ll get to see more of it than just this wall.

Sunday vs. Monday

Standard

The high on Sunday was a balmy 68 degrees.  I had short sleeves on and spent some time turning the dirt over in my garden beds.

This was yesterday morning! The high was in the 20’s!  And last night we got even more snow – 5″!  The temps this morning were 2 degrees!! Baby it’s cold outside! LOL

1st Big 2018 Project

Standard

Waiting for some warmer temps . . . but I’m ready to replace the carpet in my bedroom with my new flooring.  Then the snowball affect begins . . . move all the furniture out, remove carpet – pad – staples, lay down floor, put up trim boards, make and hang barn door into Mistress Bath, hang and paint beadboard in Mistress Bath entry . . . gives me a headache just listing all those things! LOL

Another Pig?

Standard

Seriously, LOL, I don’t collect pigs!  But when I was in Hobby Lobby yesterday I came across this candle holder – helloooooo too stickin’ cute!  It just happened to be a pig – I wasn’t looking for a pig – butttt it was only $10! LOL

Backdrop Wall

Standard

I bought these ClosestMaid ShelfTrack 40″ wire shelving brackets (2) and anchored them into the studs on the wall (each was about $9).  I wanted to be able to adjust the support brackets at any height.  The support brackets came 2 in a pack and were about $7.

Sometimes I use fabric for backdrops and they’re not always the same length.  I also bought 1 1/2″ PVC pipe and used packing tape to attach this Valentine backdrop. I can store them like this or stand them up in the corner.  I love having options, lol.  I purchased all these products at Home Depot (except the backdrop).

Vintage . . . . .

Standard

Anyone else have one of these jewels?  I’m originally from Napa, California and there is a little bakery in Napa called “Buttercream Bakery” and it’s still there.  When I was much younger we’d sometimes get birthday cakes with a little porcelain figure on them that represented the month of our birthday.  I came across this while I was cleaning out the “new studio” “old catch-all room”.  Mom, do you remember these?  This is the only one I have left.  It’s kinda sad that something I own as a little girl could now be called Vintage! LOL

Furniture Movers

Standard

This was the last bit of painting I needed to finish over the weekend and this sucker is heavy!

These are a single girl’s best friend! You can buy them anywhere: Joann’s, Walmart, Bed Bath and Beyond, probably Target too.  I bought these quite awhile ago and they even came with little sherpa-like covers to use on wood or tile floors.  I used my little crowbar to lift the cabinet just enough to slide one of these under.

It really is unbelievable how easy it is to move furniture with these!!!!  Awesome!
