Amie & Matthew came up last weekend for my birthday and to help me put up bead board on my closet & mudroom ceilings (pics next week). I wanted to make us some breakfast sandwiches, which I’ve made in the past using bagels and just folding the egg over but this time I wanted the eggs to fit, like McDonald’s, lol. I couldn’t find the metal egg rings in time so a friend found a suggestion on the internet – love! They worked pretty good after the pan was a bit hotter. The first one went all over the place, but once the pan heated up they stayed in their little “mason jar rings” pretty good. Great idea, they were tasty and fit just like Mickey D’s. Thanks Brucey for searching the internet.

Ready for Fall
I Just Had Too . . .
I couldn’t fit in the grandkids’ tractor, I needed a mower for the lawn and I needed something to mow down 3ft weeds, soooooo I got my own! Seriously, how can you have a little farmhouse and not have a John Deere!! I bought it from my church – we had one sitting up at our Fort Lupton Campus that hadn’t been used in a few years. This thing is a work horse – these pics are after the 3ft weeds came down and yes that’s dirt on my leg! I love it! It’s sooo much fun – yes, I crack myself up. LOL
Mudroom Tile – Done!
I attempted my very first tile job and even though I DID conquer it, it was not fun!! I’ll try most anything once – tiling is just not my thing. I was never the kid that liked to play in the mud, I preferred looking for the rocks with the glitter in them and then taking them home and washing the dirt off! Tiling is a very messy job. I don’t mind getting dirty but this was a bit much and it was totally back breaking! Jason came by on his way home from work and cut the last 2 tiles for me 😉 It looks great and I’m proud that I got it done but seriously, give me a paint roller any day!! I still have the bathroom floor tile to do soooooo we’ll seeeeee. 😉
Wooohoooo!
My string lights are here! It’s a bit of a distance between the back of the house and the barn, so I’ll need to get some wire cable to string across for extra support. Cannnnnoooottt wait to get these hung. Heyyyy my daughter and new son-in-law are coming up this weekend . . . maybe they can help? What do you think Amie & Matthew? 😉 xoxo
She has Feet!
I spent the day last week with Jason and his truck. We went to Harbor Freight, then to Home Depot. He helped me with 14 sheets of bead board, 9 sheets of cement board, mortar, grout, spacers, and paint. When we got home and got it all unloaded, we unwrapped “her” and Jason put the feet on for me! She’s just gorgeous!!! The pics just don’t do her justice. If you’re interested, the color on the walls is Behr “Seaglass”, it’s really lovely – very calm and soothing. Thanks for all your help Jasoni! xoxo
P.S. I need to take pictures straight on – the room is NOT crooked, the roof does slant but it’s not crooked. 😉
Concrete – Done!
I took last week off to work on some house stuff. Here are the pics I took from the concrete pour. The guys did a great job!
Concrete Pour Tomorrow!
The guys came over last weekend and worked on the forms for concrete. I needed to have the section that had been dug out for the stem wall filled back in to keep water away from the house. The back side faces North so in the winter the snow/water just freezes back there because it doesn’t see the sun. So since the concrete truck was coming I wanted to get a few more things poured. I actually lovvveee concrete! Concrete means no weeds! Concrete means nice, clean walkways! Well concrete doesn’t come cheap!! I’m having the front poured with a new sidewalk because the old one will be covered by a porch (hopefully next Spring). I’m also having a pad poured on the west side of the backyard for a little serving/kitchen area, then a small pad poured on the side of my barn where the garden will be (hopefully next Spring). Things are changing at City Girl Farms! 😉
Nursery Wall
A good friend of mine “Sue” is expecting her first grandbaby – it’s a boy! Her son & daughter-in-law are expecting their little bundle of joy in October. I was invited to the baby shower last month and I was so excited to see their house because April (daugther-in-law) is crazy design talented! You should have seen it, her and Chris have done a great job! I should have taken pics but I was too busy picking my jaw up off the ground. Sue sent me this pic of the nursery wall. Chris & April taped this design down and then painted it – it is insane the amount of time it must of taken. It looks fantastic and I wanted to share it with you. Kuddos to Chris & April and I can’t wait to meet the little guy!
