The concrete truck came Friday afternoon just as a storm was coming in! It blew through in about 20 min but came with huge winds and rain. Crazy Colorado weather. The guys just worked through it. The kitchen pad got extended, the pad for the garbage cans got poured and the pylons for the deck were filled. 😉

More Concrete
Have I mentioned how much I like concrete! LOL I’ve been working on some ideas for my backyard, like adding a ground level deck. My son suggested I extend my “kitchen pad” which I decided was a fabulous idea. So I called “my guys” (they did the construction on my addition). The current “kitchen pad” is 8’x10′ and I’m extending it another 8’x10′ in concrete and adding a small pad to the side of the house for my garbage cans. The holes in the ground have those tubes in them to pour concrete pylons which will support my 10’x19′ ground level deck. Concrete is coming today and the guys will build the deck this weekend! So excited!
Pantry Progress
Jason and I really like “Bud’s Warehouse”. It’s a place where people take their old cabinets/doors/windows and also a place where contractors drop off excess materials they don’t use. I was looking for some old cabinets to put in my pantry (old mudroom) and he was looking for cabinets for his garage. A couple of weeks ago we went to Bud’s and we both scored! I bought a 36″ base cabinet, a 30″ base cabinet and an 8′ countertop for $100!! Jason came over last Friday and put the cabinets and countertop in for me! What a difference. You can still see the water lines in the wall from the old washer connection, those are coming out this week. At some point this whole room will be painted along with these ugly cabinets and a new vinyl floor, but for now it works! The red gingham knobs on the base cabinets are mine, I just had to add some kinda cuteness. Thanks Jason! xoxo
Pumpkin Update!
In Case You Need Some Cuteness Today!

Seed Bed Done!
I finally planted my “seed” bed this past weekend. Beets, Radishes, Rainbow Carrots and 3 types of Lettuce. Two of the lettuce packets say “30 day maturity” soooo hopefully fresh salads are coming my way, along with the radishes. The rainbow carrots and the beets won’t be ready till mid September. I tied some string around popsicle sticks and placed them at both ends of the bed so I could plant in a straight line and remember where to concentrate my watering. 😉
Super Cool Tent
I found this pin on Pinterest and thought it would be a great project for Owen and I to build http://justanotherhangup.blogspot.ca/2013/09/childs-play-tent-tutorial.html. Crazy simple and totally cool. He came over Friday for a sleepover so we headed to Home Depot to get our 3 dowels (3/4″ wide by 48″ long) and our 1″x2″x8′ (2) cut in half for the cross braces. When we got home I grabbed my handy dandy Ryobi Drill with my 3/4 spade bit and drilled the holes in the 1×2’s and then inserted the dowels. Seriously it was that simple! I had already bought some cowboy fabric for him that we draped over the top dowel, I just need to sew on some ties still. He loved it and slept in it all night. 😉
Happy Friday!

Thank You, Matthew
Amie & Matthew came up last weekend and he gave my John Deere tractor an overhaul, even sharpened the blades!
Thank you Matthew!! xoxo
The Benson’s Kids’ Garden
When Jason & Tara bought their ranch this little garden area was just south of a shed they have. It was covered in 3′ weeds. Tara’s vision for the “kid’s garden” has come to fruition. So stickin’ adorable!! Love everything but especially the pencils!!! Jason cut them from landscape logs (I think) and Tara is painting them.
