Rhubarb Plants

Standard

A friend of mine was getting rid of her rhubarb plants – so I’m giving it a shot.  I have 2 and planted them in front of my pumpkin patch fence.  I actually think they’re going to make it, LOL!   A little hail damage but I can see new growth.  I’m looking forward to making some rhubarb & strawberry jam this summer!  Thank you Sue!!!!!

Yes I feel like a grown up – cool air coming through those vents – sooooooo fabulous and every room in the house is actually the same temp, lol!  I want to give a shout out to Ken Avery and his crew from Great Peaks!  http://greatpeaksheatingandair.com   They did an awesome job – all done in one day – very professional, very friendly and very respectful!!  Highly recommend if you need any HVAC work done! 5 stars for sure!!

WOW Me Wednesday – Quiche Update

Standard

I’ve made this Quiche Lorraine recipe in the past and “as is” it’s delicious.  Howeverrrrr, I did switch it up a bit recently and the update was JUST, if not more, delicious!!

I love Quiche Lorraine and I’ve never made it, so I thought I’d give it a try.  It was very yummy and I actually eat it for dinner with a salad.  My Texas bestie (hi Robin) & I used to go to Mimi’s and get their Quiche & salad, theirs is very good as well and this reminds me of it.  Very simple especially when you cook your bacon in the oven!!!

Quiche Lorraine: – 1 9″ deep dish pie crust (I used Marie Calendar’s frozen)

– 1 bunch green onions (or one sauteed onion)

– 8 slices cooked & crumbled bacon (I used thick cut) – HERE I USED A PACKAGE OF “REGULAR” JIMMY DEAN SAUSAGE – BROWNED IT

– 1 1/2 cups shredded swiss cheese – HERE I USED THE PRE-SHREDDED “ITALIAN” CHEESE BLEND

– 3 eggs slightly beaten

– 1 1/2 cups half & half

– 1/4 teas salt & 1/4 teas pepper & 1/8 teas nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Take frozen pie crust out to thaw.  Cook bacon in oven as directed on package (yes it says right on the package) chop or crumble when done.  (OR BROWN THE SAUSAGE) I chopped up the green onions & used all the stems and about 3/4 of the whites. In bowl mix, eggs with half & half.  Add salt, pepper & nutmeg, set aside.  Once crust is thawed, add bacon (OR SAUSAGE), onions & cheese (I mixed them up a bit).  The crust is pretty full but it will all fit.  Slowly pour the egg mixture over top.  Bake 40-50 minutes until crust is lightly browned and the middle doesn’t jiggle.  Let stand 5 minutes & enjoy!

Belle’s 4th Birthday Party

Standard

This little cutie turned 4 last week!  She had a “Peppa Pig Tea Party” and it was perfect!

Tara did such a beautiful job – so many special touches!

Every treat – yes EVERY treat was made by Tara  . . . and those french macaroons and the lemon curd . . . to die for!!! Seriously!

Yummy sandwiches and an variety of delicious cookies – I didn’t get a pic of the chocolate covered orange rinds – crazy good!

Tara bought a regular sheet cake at the store and then dolled it up with Belle’s Peppa Pig toys.  She added the ganache for mud holes – so cute!

Tea Party Time!

Love this kid!

The cutest tea pot ever – filled with Strawberry Milk.

4 years old! Where does the time go?

Happy 4th Birthday Belley Boo!

Adding Knobs & Pulls

Standard

I’ve had this cabinet forever and it’s great for storage.  It came without a top so I just purchased a stock top from Ikea.  I now use it in my studio and I’ve been wanting to add some cute polka dot knobs I found at Hobby Lobby.

Hobbs had their knobs 50% off last week so I scooped some up.  These were originally $5.99 on sale for $2.99 – sooo cute – they match my curtains!

Wanted something different for the doors – these were originally $9.99 on sale for $4.99.

Such a cute and not too expensive update!
