This year’s contest was “Soup” and we had a wonderful variety of yummy ones!

Everyone had a chance to fill their bowls and place a “vote”! Everybody got to be a judge.

And this little angel face is actually eating the “Winner”!! Tara and the Benson family made homemade Tomato Bisque soup and Tara had made grilled cheese sandwiches that she cut into bite size croutons!!!! YUMOLA!!  Congrats Bensons!

More to come  . . . .

Kitchen – Good News – Bad News

Standard

Good news . . . . cabinets are in!  Bad news . . . I have to re-level!!!!!!!  Longgggg story – but countertop guy came to measure and the 2 base cabinets to left of the dishwasher are lower than the cabinet to the right of the dishwasher!!!!  Seriously???? Whoooo knew that an 8′ level is required for making sure that the “long” run of cabinets are alllllllll level together.  Well, I thought they were level until he stuck that 8′ level (maybe it was 6′ – it was way bigger than my 4′ level) across the 2 left cabinets, across the dishwasher to the other cabinet.  Soooooooo I have to start over on those . . . sooooo bummed!!!  This is taking FOREVER!

Here are my countertop & tile choices.  The countertop is “Cortina” Quartz by Viatera (Home Depot) and the tile for my backsplash is called “Avalon” from Lowe’s.  I wanted a simpler countertop because I wanted the statement to be my backsplash.  The tile reminds me of a quilt – perfect for my little farmhouse.
