These Are Great!

Standard

IMG_0941I have heard about these crock pot bags but hadn’t tried them yet.  They caught my eye on the grocery shelf last week so thought I’d give them a try.  I was extremely pleased with the outcome.  No fuss, no mess, no scrubbing, no clean up and I could put my crock pot away when I was done, not having to leave it on the counter until I ran the ceramic “insides” through the dishwasher!  I will definitely keep these in-stock! 😉

Behr Barn & Fence Paint

Standard

IMG_0931FYI – This stuff is great.  Jason told me about it.  He found it at Home Depot, but not all Home Depots carry it.  It’s an exterior matte finish paint that only comes in white or a dark red.  This is what I used on the potting bench.  It brushes on pretty nicely and is ONLY $15 a gallon!!!  I’ll be painting my Pumpkin Patch fence with it too.

P.S. If you’re not quite done painting, just cover your brush or roller with Saran Wrap or foil and it will be perfect for a day or two.  You can even put it in the freezer if it’s going to be awhile before you use it again.

Potting Bench – Done!

In between snow storms we’ve had some decent weather.  I’ve been working on my potting bench for awhile now and finally finished yesterday (more snow tomorrow).  The frame of the bench is from scrap wood in my yard leftover from the “addition”.  I only had to buy the fence pickets for the back and the 1×4’s for the top/bottom work space and the upper shelf.  I had leftover outdoor paint that I used on the 1×4’s and then I used some white Behr, Barn & Fence paint for the base & back.  I’m pretty tickled with myself – lol – this is my first building project and I love it!  A girl with power tools – the sky is the limit 😉   The link below was my inspiration that I found on Pinterest.  Thanks “Back Woods Cottage”!!

So, THIS Happened Yesterday!

I was outside painting my potting bench Tuesday after work in 70 degrees.  I woke up to a blizzard and below freezing temps yesterday!!  Airport closed, schools closed, work closed!!  We got 2′ of snow and it was crazy windy!!  I took the picture of the house on my way into work today, nice and sunny.  The other pics are from yesterday.  The weird pics are looking up to the roof from my front door, that snow is suspended off the roof line – crazy.  The doorway pic is snow piled up against my back door!  I’m hoping the front porch and walk will be melted when I get home, lol wouldn’t that be nice.

Two Things Today

Standard

First, Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  This is an Ode to my Grandma Weaver.  I can remember when my kids where little we were celebrating St. Patty’s Day telling them I was sure we probably had some “Irish” in us, (doesn’t everybody) when I remembered – wholly toledo, we TOTALLY have Irish in us cause my Grandma Weaver’s maiden name was “Kilpatrick”!!!  You don’t get much more Irish than that, right?!?!  I found this pic on Pinterest and though it’s not my Grandma Weaver – it totally could be because she looks JUST like my Grandma- hair pulled back, her glasses & apron!  We’re all Irish today! 😉

Second, if you are interested in my “Coffee Bar” challenge, I need your pics by noon tomorrow.  I’d like to post them all tomorrow afternoon.  Thanks everyone!!
