It’s football time and that means it’s chili time!! First, let me just give a shout out to our awesome BRONCOS!!! What a game last night against the KC Chiefs!! My daughter asked me about my chili recipe and I thought I had posted it already but hadn’t. Sundays, in the fall/winter, should just be about church, family, chili & football!! This recipe is super simple and very good if I say so myself. Here you go Amie:
Homemade Chili1 lb. hamburger 1/2 onion chopped 1 can tomato sauce 14.5 oz 1 can diced tomatoes 14.5 oz 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon oregano 1/2 TBS cumin 1 TBS chili powder 1 can kidney beans – rinse & drain
1 can pinto beans – rinse & drainBrown meat – drain – add all ingredients except the beans. Cover and simmer on low 30 minutes. Add beans, simmer another 20 minutes (I normally let it go for an hour or more). Garnish with shredded cheese & sour cream!! Adding saltines – a must! Enjoy
